Alphateq warranties are only offered to trained and accredited contractors. This ensures that works are carried out to a very high standard. Alphateq Waterproofing offer a variety of warranties ranging between 10- and 25-year time periods. Insurance backed materials and workmanship warranties are also an option. You can therefore choose the right level of coverage for your project.
All warranties are also underwritten by the manufacturer, who is the largest liquid manufacturer in Europe. All of this ensures complete peace of mind for the client because the system must be installed as per strict manufacturer guidelines and a site visit carried out, before any warranty is issued.
Before any liquid contractor can apply for a warranty, they must undergo product and installation training. Typically, this is carried out on site in ‘Live’ project situations and takes approximately a day, depending on the ability and experience of the installer. This is more effective than simply training installers around a small rig.
Real roofs offer more challenges and call for a higher level of focus and involvement by the installer. Names are filled and cards issued. Ongoing works are inspected, and photo evidence of projects can also be requested. This all adds to the assurance that installations are carried out to a high standard by trained personnel.
The importance of training contractors to use the system correctly and efficiently cannot be over emphasized. Any system, whatever the brand or quality, is only as good as the people installing it. Most failures in modern systems are down to installer error. Be it not preparing the substrate correctly, using unsuitable primers, wrong application method and quantity etc.
The only way to ensure this risk is kept to a minimum is by ensuring all applicators of the Alphateq system are fully trained and are knowledgeable about all the required components and procedures required for a trouble-free installation, safe in the knowledge the roof will be watertight throughout the warranty period.
Alphateq firmly believes that the most effective way to undertake training is on site. This ensures a realistic scenario as possible. Some systems companies undertake training on a module, usually located indoors and in perfect conditions. Site conditions are totally different of course and stretch people’s abilities much further as a consequence. But they are better trained and more able to cope with differing roof designs and conditions.
Once trained, details are taken of the operators concerned and these are kept on record. Follow on projects are monitored and any installer not trained will be unable to work on the project that requires a warranty. Either that, or a warranty will not be issued. This all safeguards the systems reputation, the client, and the roofing contractor. If a contractor goes past a six-month time period between projects, they may be required to undergo a refresher overview at their next project.
• All training is undertaken on site.
• All trained installer details are taken and filed for future reference.
• Proof of identity may be requested when Alphateq technical attend for site inspections.
• Refresher overview may be required if a period of six months passes between projects.
• A warranty is only available to contractors that are trained by Alphateq.
